Les was born on the 25th April 1933 in Enfield Lock, Middlesex. His family then moved to Eleanor Cross, Road, Waltham Cross where grow up. Les joined the Bedford and Herts regiment on the 23rd August 1951 for his National Service. Les was posted to Egypt November 1951 and spent nearly 3 years there.
In 1952 Les and part of his regiment came back to the UK to parade in the Queens coronation.
After completing National Service Les settled in rural Essex where he started a family.
Les, always said he was blessed with 3 wonderful daughters, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In 2001 Les moved to a new bungalow in March where he made many friends.
My daughters and I have very fond memory’s of Les from his time in Dovercourt. A real gentleman ❤️

Goodbye Uncle Les. We will miss your kindness and sense of fun (and Little Boy and Little Girl too). You cheered us up whenever we saw you.
